Dr. Benjamin Bjerke ("BYEER-key") has trained in all areas of spinal surgery at top institutions around the country, including minimally invasive spine surgery, cervical disorders, degenerative spinal conditions, trauma and post-traumatic conditions, tumor, infection, as well as complex and revision spine surgery. He uses modern surgical technology, including minimal access surgery techniques, stereotactic computer-aided navigation, and motion-preserving procedures.

He has authored several publications in Spine, The Spine Journal, and many other peer-reviewed journals. He has shared his research in over 30 national and international meeting presentations. His research interests include osteoporosis and post-surgical infections. It has been very beneficial in his own practice in treating patients with low bone density and avoiding infection after surgery.

Dr. Bjerke does not receive consultation fees from medical device companies, and has no conflicts of interests to disclose. He holds no commercial bias and acts only in the best interest of each and every patient.

Dr. Bjerke speaks fluent professional Spanish. He is committed to providing the same level of excellent care and communication for all of his bilingual patients. Dr. Bjerke habla español con fluidez profesional. In his free time, he enjoys reading, skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, and spending time with his family. He has served as a volunteer surgeon on two surgical missions to Ghana, Africa to treat severe spinal deformities. He leads an active lifestyle and understands the importance that his patients place on getting back to the lifestyle they want to pursue. Each patient's goals and limitations are carefully considered in choosing a plan of care.
